Welcome to the
Waukesha County
Land Conservancy

Preserving Environmentally Significant Lands in Waukesha County Open spaces seemingly unaltered by human design, fill a need within us. They lift our soul, refresh our spirit…

For almost two decades, the Waukesha County Land Conservancy has worked quietly and efficiently at fulfilling its mission of protecting environmentally significant lands in Waukesha County. Over 2,371 acres of primary environmental corridor, undisturbed shoreline, pristine floating bog, uplands, woodlands and wetlands are preserved for generations to come plus the purchase of another 110 acres in the near future.

Preserving these unique spaces for our children and grandchildren means that someday they, too, can hear the one-of-a-kind honking that means a sandhill crane is flying overhead….see a pasque flower poking its delicate petals from beneath the snow….trail a hand in the cold, clear water of the Mukwonago River….watch great blue herons feeding their young….glimpse a painted turtle slipping off a log….smell the sharp earthiness of a woodland emerging from the grip of winter….listen to the whispers of falling leaves….
