Fall 2006 Workdays for
Waukesha Land Conservancy
Your participation is greatly needed as we have tons of work to
do this fall. The workdays for fall 2006 are listed below.
Jason Dare, our Land Manager says to bring gloves and to plan on
working about 3 to 4 hours each session, but come anyway, even if
you cannot stay for the full session. Workdays are a great chance to
see the preserves you have helped to protect and learn about what
the Waukesha County Land Conservancy is doing to manage them. Tours
can be given by request
If you know how to find the worksite, go there directly. If not,
go to the meeting place listed below and someone will lead you to
the site. Call Marlin Johnson at 262-965-2227
if you have questions.
There are also some things you can do on your own schedule.
First we are in need of acorns from red, white and bur oaks along
with shagbark hickory nuts this fall. Second we are in
desperate need of metal rods or poles used to fasten tree
protectors. Roughly 3 1/2' or longer work well, but we can use
the smaller ones also.
